You may have heard that Rimmel have a brand new collection of their 60 Seconds nail polishes in collaboration with Rita Ora (she is a pop star here in the UK for those who don't know!) which contains a huge 12 shades! I've split my post up in to two parts, so today I'll be showing you the 5 pastel shades the collection has to offer.
Rimmel have been stepping up their nail game recently, with the introduction of on-trend collections like Space Dust and Sweetie Crush. I've also noticed that the Rimmel stands in shops are now so much more attractive and bursting with new and colourful things!
The first thing I noticed about these polishes is the Rita Ora stamp on the lids, which is a nice touch. The last thing I noticed though was that the little cartoon Rita is wearing the shade in the bottle on her nails in each stamp. What a cute attention to detail! Each of these shades (with the exception of Let's Get Nude) contains hidden shimmer, which is visible in the bottle but barely visible on the nail. My pictures didn't pick it up at all on my nails, but you can see it on the bottle shots.
Pillow Talk is a pale cornflower blue creme with hidden shimmer. The formula isn't overly streaky, but you'll need 2 coats, maybe 3 depending on your application skills! I've used 2, plus a coat of Rimmel Nail Nurse top coat.
Lose Your Lingerie is a pale baby pink creme with hidden shimmer. I needed 3 coats due to how pale the colour is, plus top coat as above. I love this pink though, it's a bit different to all the other baby pink cremes I own!
Breakfast In Bed is a pale mint creme that leans slightly blue, also with hidden shimmer. 2 coats plus top coat
Let's Get Nude is a caramel nude shade which leans slightly pink, no shimmer here. This one is quite sheer and thin in comparison to the others and needed 3 coats. I don't think it goes very well with my skin tone, but it's a nice natural colour nonetheless.
White Hot Love is a white creme with hidden shimmer, giving it a very slight pearl finish. The formula isn't too bad for a white polish but you'll still need 2-3 coats. I used 3 plus top coat.
These are really nice colours, the formula is perhaps a bit on the thick side and they definitely do need more than the 1 coat the bottle talks about, but show me a pastel that takes one coat! I can't wait to try the bright colours from the collection, they'll be coming soon!
My Picks: Breakfast In Bed and Lose Your Lingerie
Availability
Available from Superdrug and Boots stores now, priced £3.69 each.
The colors are pretty but I'm not a big fan of that shimmer!
ReplyDeleteYour nails are gorgeous !!! Breakfast in bed is my favourite:)
ReplyDeleteI bought 2 last week, a nude and a red and I've already thrown them out they were so awful. I'm never going to buy Rimmel again, I am disappointed every time. I'm going to stick with Barry M as my high street choice, so much better quality and great choice xx
ReplyDeleteOh that's a shame :( they were a little bit thick, but that was my only problem really. Barry M do tend to have the best formula out of the high street brands though.
DeleteThese are lovely. I need some pastels in my collection. Maybe I'll try these!
ReplyDeleteGreat swatches! Breakfast In Bed looks so nice! I love the stamp stickers on the bottles too! I can't wait to see your other swatches of this collection! :)
ReplyDeleteSuch great swatches, lose your lingerie is so pretty xx
ReplyDeleteThese are all so pretty!!! Hope they come to Canada soon :)
ReplyDeleteMust see if this collection (with that top) will come to the States.
ReplyDeletewow! I love you Rimmel. It's one of my favourite brands.
ReplyDeleteRimmel is winning so much lately!
ReplyDeletethose are perfect for spring! i would take them all :)
ReplyDeletePillow Talk seems the best looking for me.
ReplyDeleteI brought Lose Your Lingerie yesterday and I got on really well with it. Its such a nice colour and not as sheer as all the pale pinks I've got. :)
