Butter London Shambolic - Swatches

Hi! Today I've got some swatches of Butter London Shambolic, which I was lucky enough to find in TK Maxx! I'm addicted to bargain hunting polishes in TK Maxx, I'm always in there!

Shambolic is such a glitterbomb. It has purple micro glitter with bits of blue, red and pink, and also larger silver and pink hexagonal glitter, all in a clear base. It's a fairly dense glitter so you can build it up on it's own (I used 3 coats) but in hindsight, may have been better layered over a purple.

Intentionally blurred to show off the different coloured flecks -

I like it a lot! Glad I remembered my glue base coat though, otherwise I'd still have been scrubbing it off now!

Striped Gradient

Hi lovelies. Ugh, my bones are aching today, I think I stood in the cold way too long yesterday...and I'm going swimming tonight too. I think I might sink! Anyway, I've got some nail art today. It didn't quite turn out how I'd imagined it in my head, but I ended up really liking it!

I started with a base of China Glaze Fast Track. I added some striping tape over the top, then sponged on a gradient with Fast Track and OPI My Private Jet. Then I removed the tape and finished with an NYC top coat.

I just love black and gold together! Fast Track ended up looking a different colour when I sponged it on, which is why the stripes don't fade out, which was my original intention. I like the effect though!

Sheswai Nail Lacquer - What swatches

Hi! Today I've got a Sheswai (pronounced she-sway) polish to show you. I've admired these polishes from afar for a while due to the eye catching wooden caps, so I was excited to receive a bottle from Mise Beauty

This shade is called "What", a deep taupe-purple creme. Application was buttery good! (yeah, I really did just say that) it was almost perfect with just one coat, and completely perfect with two. You can tell it has a high-end formula. It's also super glossy and quick drying, I didn't use any top coat.

This isn't a colour I'm very familiar with, I really like it though! Sheswai also have the cutest bottles. The caps are made from sustainable wood, grown on family owned tree farms, and the polish itself is free from all the chemical nasties.

How cute is that? I love the design on the front of the bottle too! I am such a sucker for pretty packaging, luckily it's not just a pretty face though in this instance and the formula really stands up.

Sheswai is available to buy in the UK from Mise Beauty at £12.50 each.

I'm intrigued by the whole frosted bottle/keep refrigerated thing! The first thing I thought when I saw these was GRADIENTS! I bet they'd look great!

Cling Film Heart

Here are my third and final Valentine inspired nails.

I'm not 100% sure I can remember the base colour...probably Barry M Strawberry Ice Cream. I painted Barry M Fuchsia on top before dabbing it with ball of cling film (or plastic wrap) to create the effect.

I painted on a heart shape with a nail art brush and Barry M Black, then filled in the rest of the nail to create the cut out heart.

My Bloody Valentine

Here's my alternate Valentine's Day nails!

Base colour is Barielle Back To Nature. I freehanded on the drips and the heart with a striping brush and  China Glaze Winter Berry, finishing with an NYC top coat.

Now I can't get "My Bloody Valentine" by Good Charlotte out of my head. -_-

Ice Cream Drips

Some nail art today! I've always liked drippy nail art of any kind...but what would make it better? Glitter, obviously!

I used Barry M Silver Multi-glitter for the base, then free-handed on some drips with Barry M Fuchsia and a striping brush. For the sprinkles, I painted them on in white polish first so the colours would pop, and then painted over them in various Barry M colours.

I love how fun they are!

The New Black Typography kit - Review

Hi! Today I have a cute little kit to show you from the Mise Beauty website. One of the ranges they stock is called The New Black, and consists of mini kits with which you can create on-trend things like ombre and studded manis. I'm going to show you the Typography set...we've all heard of newspaper print nails, right? Well this kit provides all you need to create them.

You get a nude beige creme nail polish, transfer solution, top coat and ten sheets of newspaper print, which are printed with words like Passion, Hope, Cherish, Wish and a few more. The text on the sheets is printed backwards, so they'll be forwards on your nails, unlike if you used a normal newspaper!

Aqua Hearts Gradient

Since it's February today, I thought I'd start the month off with a Valentine (kind of) post...I'm really not one for soppy Valentine's day rubbish, but I love an excuse for a theme ;)

For this, I started with a base of Barry M Turquoise, and used Essie Blanc to sponge on a gradient. I topped it with Aqua Hearts by Candy Lacquer, which is shredded aqua foil and adorable little red hearts in a clear base.

How cute is Aqua Hearts!
