Barry M have released a whole host of new nail paints for Autumn/Winter 2014, and I'll be showing them to you over the coming days! I'm starting with the two new additions to the Aquarium collection (reviewed here back in March) because I just couldn't wait to try that purple!

Floral Stamping with Illamasqua Melange
Melange is just so pretty I couldn't bear to part with it, so I did some simple stamping over the top before it was time to remove (blogger's curse...never much time to keep a polish on!) the colour I chose to stamp with ended up being a pretty much perfect compliment to Melange.

Illamasqua Melange Swatches and Review
I've long been an Illamasqua fan (I currently own around 30 bottles of polish and a good few lip and eye products) and it's always exciting when they release a new collection; everything is always so well thought out and beautifully executed. Not to mention the stunning imagery that accompanies every new release! "Once" is the new collection for A/W 2014 and I think they've outdone themselves here...especially with this new nail polish!

Guest Post From Nailz Craze - Devilish Gradient
My fifth and final guest post is from Natalie of Nailz Craze. I'm so excited to have Natalie on my blog, she has some of the most amazing photography in the blogging world (I'm constantly in awe of it) and her nails are flawless! She's also the creator of a range of gorgeous stamping plates which I really need to get my hands on one day (one has a unicorn!) her blog contains a mix of swatches, nail art and beauty reviews so be sure to have a look!
Hi there, dear Brit Nails readers!
First let me start by saying how flattered and honored I was when Allie invited me to do a guest post for her blog, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to share my nail art with her lovely readers! I hope you will like the nail art I prepared for this post.
So there it is, my red-black-gold mani with a hint of a devilish touch! I don’t know if it’s the colors or the almond nail shape (or maybe it’s just me), but you can see what I mean, right? ;)

Guest Post From Polly Polish - Unicorn Chevrons
My fourth guest post comes from Hannah, aka Polly Polish. This is Hannah's second appearance on my blog - she created these nails for me last year. I can never say enough how great Hannah is, I don't know what I'd do without her on a daily basis for a good rant, and her help with tweaking code is indispensable (the woman is a genius) so I'm super happy to have her back on my blog, especially as she's created some adorable nail art with my piCture pOlish shade!
I know I'm taking a bit of a gamble with this post for Allie. She's not the sort to blow her own trumpet, using her piCture pOlish creation 'Unicorn' could backfire on me, either if she doesn't like my design, or is just a bit embarrassed. Well, tough titties Allie, because despite her insistence that this wouldn't be 'my kind of colour', it's a brilliant creation. She could've made a brown polish and I'd still buy it, use it, and love it.
So, here's Allie's 'Unicorn'. I have swatched this previously so I know it's a three coater. I wanted to show how bright and fun it can look using just one coat over a white base. The base here is Models Own Hyper Gel 'White Light' which I masked off with some right angled nail vinyls and painted over with 'Unicorn' before removing the tape and covering with a top coat that I can't yet reveal because I'm testing it for a brilliant brand. Suffice to say this top coat is also a winner. You could get the same pattern by applying the white over a base of 'Unicorn' but I think the white being underneath makes the turquoise base of this polish sing that bit more, as well as showing off the pink and silver glitter, along with a subtle pink shimmer. 'Unicorn' is a terribly cute polish that really lives up to it's magical name.

Guest Post From Nails By Danielle T - Autumn Toadstools
My third guest post is from Danielle of @nailsbydaniellet on Instagram. You may well already be familiar with her by now, she's been steadily gaining popularity on Instagram, and so she should - she does beautifully detailed nail art and has the cutest nail shape ever. Danielle doesn't have a blog yet but I'm hoping she decides to create one soon because I enjoyed reading about the process behind these nails. I'm a big fan of her work so I'm really excited she agreed to a guest post!
Hello everyone, I’m Danielle from @nailsbydaniellet on Instagram and I am so excited to show you my autumn inspired manicure today! I’ve been following Allie’s work for a couple of years and I have her stunning swatches to thank for my rapidly growing polish collection- I’m sure you can relate! I was so honoured when she invited me to create a blog post to share with you all (I may have squealed a little) and in anticipation of autumn, I thought I would attempt the toadstool nail art I've been thinking about for so long.
For this manicure I used Essie’s ‘Sand Tropez' for my base and acrylic paint for all of the details. I started by painting the heads of the red toadstools, then mixed a few different yellow shades to create some dimension for their chubby stems. Once the focal point of each nail was done, I fitted in a mixture of smaller, neutral-toned mushrooms, dandelion seeds and added extra plants for pops of colour around them. To outline the toadstools and mushrooms, I watered down my black paint and used a finer nail art brush (professionally trimmed with nail clippers) very lightly to define them
My thumb rarely makes a full appearance but I often quickly try out a design on it first, so I thought she deserved a mention and a photo with my trial toadstools.
I am really happy with the way these turned out, and SO ready to go and buy the entire Barry M Autumn/Winter Gelly collection (again, thanks to Allie!) then throw myself into a pile of autumn manicures. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my post, I really hope you enjoyed it. I would love to hear what you think and of course, feel free to visit my Instagram and have a look around!

Guest Post From One Nail To Rule Them All - Navy Floral
My second guest post comes courtesy of Alice from One Nail To Rule Them All. I'm sure you're familiar with her work already! I've met Alice a couple of times now and we've become good friends. Alice is a tutorial queen and you may have used one of her tutorials yourself - I always try to make mine as good as hers but they never quite are! ;)

Hey everyone! I’m so happy to be doing this post, Allie is
probably one of my closest friends in blogging, we speak almost everyday, along
with Hannah, and we've met a few times too, so
it’s nice to finally post from the inside! I’m definitely jealous of her going
away on holiday, I’ve been looking at last minute holidays wishfully, so I know
she’s going to have an ace time, and I’m happy to be able to fill the time for
you whilst she’s gone. For my guest post I just chose to do simple floral/gem
combination. I really love floral designs and with this I just decided to see
where it took me, and I quite like the end result, I’ll let you decide for
yourself!
For these I used Barry M – Watermelon as a base, and Graffiti Nails – Ice White then I used studs from Born Pretty Store, finished off with a coat of Seche Vite.
What do you think? Thanks again to Allie for having me!

Guest Post From Dahlia Nails - Honey Mustard
By the time you read this, I'll be in Turkey, sunning myself and taking advantage of the all inclusive food and cocktails...so I've organised some guest posters to take over my blog until I'm back! First up is Dahlia Nails, a blog ran by Emma and Jo, two really nice girls who I had the pleasure of meeting and having lunch with at an event in London. A blog ran by two people is pretty unique, and they manage to make it work so well! You get a good mix of styles between the 2 girls, and they're definitely worth checking out.
We are so honoured to guest post for Allie, aka Brit Nails, as we're massive fans!! We hope you don't miss Allie too much today and enjoy our work.
Ok, we'll admit it, we're totally in love with the new Autumn/Winter Gellys from Barry M. We were feeling a bit sad about letting go of our summer brights, but this gorgeous range left us itching to create some more muted designs. You can see full swatches and reviews of the whole range on our earlier blog post, here, and Allie's swatches here.
We received a couple of requests to create some nail art with the range, so have happily obliged. Today we used Mustard* and Chai* two of our faves from the collection (although the others only trail a teeny bit behind, ah it's so hard to choose!)
Starting with the patterned nails we painted a base of two coats of Barry M - White. Once this was dry we used a dotting tool to add medium sized dots in Mustard*, as close together as we could get them. A couple of dots ended up touching but thankfully you can't really tell in the end. To complete the design we painted the remaining two nails in solid grey Chai* and topped it all with trusty Seche.
Are you looking forward to bringing out your autumnal shades?
Love and hugs,

Nicole by OPI Seize The Summer Collection Swatches and Review
Summer is undeniably coming to and end (did we even have one?!) although I'm lucky because I still have my Summer holiday coming up! I'm a strong believer that bright nails aren't just for Summer though, and although it's nice to see the warmer shades coming in, there's still room for some brights!
