Framed Neon Gradient

I think this sort of nail art is an acquired taste and not everyone will like it...as evidenced by the (really rude)
negative comments my friend Alice got when she did something similar lately. Personally though I love it, it gives a quirky twist to gradients/saran wrap designs or even just a solid colour.

Summer Sorbet Gradient with The Lacquer Lab Miami Collection

Since my first review, The Lacquer Lab have been busy making a name for themselves and bestowing lovely new collections upon us! The Miami collection is new for Summer 2014, and I've used 4 polishes from the collection for this nail art look.

I started with a base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls (my go-to gradient base) then I sponged on a gradient using Roller Babin', Ocean Drive and SoBe. I topped it off with the crowning star of the collection, Dressed To Kill - a super sparkly mix of iridescent flakes and micro glitter in a clear base. I used 2 thin coats.

Dressed to Kill is the perfect compliment to the gradient! I've also swatched the other shades featured here

Blurple Gradient with Shimmer Polish Kim

Continuing with my Shimmer Polish posts, today I've used Kim to compliment this blurple gradient! I started with a base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls, and sponged on the gradient with Illamasqua Poke and Barry M Damson. I used Kim to create the glitter fade on top of the gradient, and finished with a coat of No7 Stay Perfect top coat.

I think this is the first time I've used these colours in a gradient, they work together so well!

I've also of course done some straight up swatches of Kim!
