Today I have some water decals to show you, but they're not just any water decals, oh no...Nail Doodles are all hand drawn!
I love to hear from independent businesses with wonderful ideas, so discovering Nail Doodles is so exciting! Each decal is hand drawn by Abbie, a talented illustrator from the UK. The detail she puts into them is just amazing! Everything is well thought out right down to the super pretty packaging.
I've tried out 2 collections, Davy Jones and The Old English Collection v.2. Davy Jones is of course made up of pirate themed illustrations, which is just my thing! There's loads to choose from on each sheet
I decided to use OPI Skull & Glossbones as a base for obvious reasons ;) then I applied some of my favourite designs over the top. It's best to cut out each design as close as you can so there is less excess around the edges. I did experience a bit of bubbling at the edges, probably due to my nails having a very deep curve to them, but it's nothing very noticeable. I finished with some top coat.
My accent nail was done using striping tape and Nicole by OPI A-Nise-Treat.
The Old English Collection v.2 (on the left, v.1 is on the right) is made up of gothic, old english style letters and numbers. Again, they're beautifully detailed!
Here, I started with a base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls and created a gradient using Roller Babin' and Kiss Me Quick by The Lacquer Lab. It took me a while to decide whether to do love or hate...in the end the pink polishes swayed me ;)
I'm impressed with the quality of these decals, they're very opaque which is not something you always get with water decals. I struggled at first getting them to lie completely flat, but I would blame that on my curvy nails and application skills more than the decals themselves. I love the end results though!

Wow! This so pretty. I didn't get on first time round with the nail art stickers I purchased but I'd be willing to give these a go x
