Guest Post from The Nailasaurus - Pastel Galaxy

My second guest poster is Sammy from The Nailasaurus. I'm sure most of you, if not all of you, are familiar with Sammy's blog already! The Nailasaurus was one of my first inspirations when I started out blogging and still is today. Sammy is a master of studs, stamping, striping tape, gradients and tutorials, amongst many other things. I'm always excited to see a new post from her in my feed! Recently she's been doing amazing galaxy nail art and she's created some just for my blog which I'm very happy about!

Hello readers of Brit Nails. First off I have to say a big thanks to Allie for inviting me to post for her and putting her trust in me today! I’ve decided to show off some pastel(ish) galaxy nails. I’ve been completely obsessed with this style of nail art recently. The bright colours make a nice change from the traditional dark and mysterious galaxy nails, especially in the summer months. My obsession combined with how easy this nail art is makes it one of my go-to styles when I’m short on time or inspiration.

I started by painting on a base of NYC Raindrop on all of my nails and letting it dry. Next I took out the colours I’d be using for the galaxy – Barry M GuavaNYC Lavender CupcakeNYC Lexington Yellow and Calvin Klein Blue Wants to be a Millionaire for the shimmery bits.

To create the galaxy, I took a make-up sponge and with a pair of tweezers, ripped off a small chunk. I then dipped the sponge in to the other colours one at a time and sponged small sections gently on to my nails.

For the stars, I used a nail art brush with white acrylic paint to freehand the large, diamond shaped ones with a dotting tool for the smaller details.

Hopefully you followed that but if my explanation wasn’t quite enough, there’s a full tutorial on my blog which goes in to a bit more detail with pictures!

Finally, I topped it all off with a coat of Sally Hansen Dries Instantly.
