There's a new nail subscription box on the block called MeeBox - launched in August 2015, MeeBox promises to feature sought-after polishes and treatments as well as independent brands. I've got the debut box to show you today, and the theme is California Dreamin'.
This is the third nail subscription box that I've become aware of, first we had Nailbox and second came Colouristiq (which I hope to feature soon) and now MeeBox is wading in to the fold. It's great that we're getting more choice!
What is MeeBox?
MeeBox is a monthly subscription box dedicated to nails. Each month you'll receive 4-5 nail products including polishes, tools and/or treatments, plus swatch sticks. Dispatch day is the 22nd of each month and boxes are limited.
Inside August's box:
- Models Own Turquoise Gloss HyperGel
- Color Club Disco Dress
- China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy (new formula)
- Mini CND Solar Oil (cuticle oil)
- Palm Tree stickers/stencils by Whats Up Nails
- 3 swatch sticks
I was excited to see Flip Flop Fantasy, although I do prefer the original formula, the new one is still a gorgeous colour. Disco Dress is also a stunning colour and my first Color Club for a good while! Turquoise Gloss is already a favourite of mine from way back - see my Models Own HyperGel Swatches post. I've never tried Solar Oil myself, but I've heard it's pretty good, and it smells like marzipan...which you'll either love or hate.
China Glaze - Flip Flop Fantasy - excuse the icky skin tone, neons send my camera crazy!
Color Club - Disco Dress
Also included are these cute palm tree vinyls from Whats Up Nails. You can use them as stencils or stickers, whichever you prefer.
I created some quick dry brush nail art using the colours from the box (plus a white creme for the base) they go perfectly together for an end of Summer manicure.
I love the colour selection and the Solar Oil is a welcome addition. The vinyls set off the theme perfectly and if you're an avid swatch stick collector (which I know some of you are) this box has you covered. It's a little pricier than Nailbox (£5 more per box if you're choosing a month to month subscription) for roughly the same sort of content, but as each month will have different products with different values, it's difficult to tell which is the best value for money in the long run. Once I've reviewed all available UK boxes, I'll work on a comparison post.
Which do you prefer the look of, MeeBox or Nailbox? Have you subscribed to any of them? Let me know your thoughts.
- Available only from MeeBox. August's box is no longer available, but you can now purchase September's box.
- Boxes cost £20 including P&P for a month to month subscription (you can buy a one-off box, but don't forget to cancel your subscription after as it's auto-renewing) you can also save money by buying a 3 month subscription. (check out the FAQ page for any questions you might have)
