Pet'la Plate - Calaveras

I was recently asked by NailLand if I'd like to try some of the products they stock, and one of the things I chose is the Calaveras plate by a brand thats new to me, Pet'la Plate. I fell in love with the design instantly, it's just so pretty! Images of leadlighting started swirling in my head ;)

Pet'la plates are designed and manufactured in Hungary, and the fact they're made from brass makes them stand out amongst all my other plates...they're so cool looking! I also love the fact the designs are big (essential for nails like mine) they're just a tad bigger than the MoYou London XL designs. The plates have different depths of etching, which is something I haven't seen before. You can buy shallow etchings or deep ones, so make sure you're aware of what depth you're buying. Shallow etchings are for experienced stampers because you need to be super quick, but you're rewarded with a much more detailed result. Deep etchings are for beginners because you're afforded a bit more time before the polish dries up.

The Calaveras plate has shallow etchings, I'm not sure if it's available with deep ones, the website isn't all that clear. The plate is beautiful though, just look how lovely the designs are!

I couldn't pick up the designs with my Creative stamper, but it worked fine with both my MoYou London XL and Konad stampers. I started with a base of Cirque Carpe Diem, then stamped my design with a england Camelot. I coloured in bits of the design with Dance Legend Aquarelle polishes, and finished with top coat.

I love how they turned out (I can't help but smile at the big grin on my ring finger) The plate is super detailed so I didn't expect it to transfer as crisply as it did, it's not 100% perfect (is stamping ever?) but it's close enough. Pet'la have loads of lovely designs all available from NailLand, I can't wait to try some more!

  2. These are out of this world! Love them to bits - they colours and the stamping are spot on perfect.
The plate is quite awesome - do love the gold, instead of the silver mirror thing - and the fact that the brand provides different etching plates is quite original (at least I'd never heard of such before).
