Hi! Barry M have released three new additions to the Silk Nail Paint range for A/W 2014, and they're just beautiful! I reviewed the original Silk collection back in February, and this time we have some darker, wintery shades to drool over.
The original silks have a lovely velvety smooth formula, and these are no different. They dry down to a soft matte sheen that's smooth to the touch, and they all have a sparkly shimmer running through them. You can add top coat if you prefer a glossy finish; I found that these tend to soak up top coat though, so you might need a good couple of coats.
Forest is a deep blue-green, highly pigmented with smooth application. I used 2 coats.
Poppy is a perfect poppy red, which seems a lot more matte than the others. Wonderful formula again, I used 2 coats.
Orchid is a pretty deep purple, which has less shimmer than the others so seems a lot more flat. That's not a bad thing though! 2 coats here
I strongly prefer these over the original silk collection, I wasn't a huge fan of the pastels but these darker shades work amazingly well!
