Born Pretty Store Review - Rhinestone Picker and Hexagonal Glitter

Today I have a review of Hexagonal Glitter from Born Pretty Store, along with a review of a really useful tool for placing them!

You've probably seen this hexagonal glitter before, it's very popular in the world of nail art! You may be familar with the term "Glequins" which is the name The Nailasaurus gave them, and it kind of stuck. They're tiny little pieces of hexagon shaped glitter that have a world of uses in nail art!

You can buy them in large individual pots, or a set of 12 smaller pots. I would recommend the set of smaller pots, because you get so many in each pot that I don't think I'd ever get through a large pot. Plus you get lots of colours! You can find them on Born Pretty here.

I created this look using some of the gold ones on top of China Glaze Glittering Garland.

Placing them can be a bit fiddly, which is where the Rhinestone Picker wax pen comes in. I discovered this while browsing Born Pretty and had to give it a go!

It looks like a regular pencil, but the tip is made of soft wax. It's ideal for picking up the tiny glequins, as well as studs and any other sort of fiddly nail art decorations.

Once I'd put a top coat over my base of Glittering Garland, I used the picker to pick up the glequins and place on the nail while the top coat was still wet. I found it quicker and easier than using a toothpick because it eliminated the need to dip the tip in top coat first. It picked up the glequins easily and they never once fell off the end.

You can sharpen the pen with a regular pencil sharpener, and it's a good idea to keep them sharpened for precision in picking up the glequins!

The rhinestone picker pen is available here from Born Pretty store for $1.99. You get 2 in a packet and they'll probably last you forever. Hexagonal glitter ("glequins") are available here for $6.93.

Don't forget you can use my code LGL91 for 10% off any order, and you also get free shipping to anywhere in the world!
