Rimmel recently re-launched their 60 seconds range with a new formula and also released a new Rita Ora collection for Summer, and I've chosen my 8 favourites to share with you today. You might be surprised I haven't chosen more brights, but the darks and neutrals really stood out to me too!
The new Rimmel formula promises to give you a base coat, glossy colour and top coat all in one - however I tend to ignore those sort of claims (from any brand) because if you avoid top coat you risk staining and that's just not an option for me, plus I generally always use top coat because it increases wear time and smooths over any imperfections you get in application. Of course it's personal choice, but those are my thoughts!
I feel like the formula has definitely improved, Rimmel has been hit and miss for me in the past but these are mostly hit. Most are 2 coaters and for only £2.99 each there isn't much room for complaints! They're also certainly glossy enough to not require topcoat, though as I said it's always my preference to use one. As for drying time, which generally I don't like to comment on, 60 seconds for the first coat is pretty accurate. The more coats/topcoat you use though the time will increase.
Wedge Of Lime is a medium lime green creme, not neon and not dull...somewhere in between! I really love this colour. 2 coats plus top coat
Oragina (not to be confused with Orangina!) is a peachy coral creme; depending on your light source it can lean more orange or more pink. 2 coats plus top coat
Wild-er-ness is a beautiful dusty lavender creme. I think this is my favourite, it's just so pretty! 2 coats plus top coat
Foggy London is a charcoal grey creme, and so supremely glossy you can see me reflected on my nails! I'm not a big fan of black polish so this is perfect for when I want to go dark but not that dark. 2 coats plus top coat
Daisy Days is a sherbet lemon creme, one of those bright happy yellows I love so much! This also has hidden shimmer! 3 thin coats plus top coat
Peachella is a peachy nude creme, not too flattering on my olive skin tone but very cute nonetheless! 2 coats plus top coat
Roll In The Grass is a minty green creme, super difficult to capture with 100% accuracy! I do love my minty greens though and this is lovely. 2 coats plus top coat
Caramel Cupcake is probably my favourite find of the collection, it's a perfect caramel nude creme, very flattering and opaque in 2 easy coats! Quite possibly the best bargain nude I've tried! 2 coats plus top coat
Overall I'm pleasantly surprised by these polishes, the only thing I don't like too much is the brush (we're probably all familiar with the Rimmel brush, you either love it or hate it) personally I find it too thick, but I know people that love it. It doesn't hinder application though, so it wouldn't put me off buying. The formula definitely seems to have improved and the range of colours available is huge! For £2.99 a bottle they really are little bargains.
Have you tried the new range? Do you feel they've improved? Let me know!

I've not really noticed any relaunched, new formula's previously, but since picking some of the Rita Ora polishes the revamp is noticeable. The formula is lovely and I much prefer the wider brush too. Really impressed with the coverage of the polishes I picked up and wear time. Roll in the grass is one of my favourites x

Your swatches are beautiful! I love the range of colours that you have shown us here, Rimmel has always been one of my favourite 'mainstream' brands. Wedge Of Lime is my favourite here.
ReplyDeleteThese look really nice! I love a good, affordable polish!! Wedge of Lime has to be my favorite here!
ReplyDeleteThese are all so gorgeous! I have a really hard time deciding a favourite. I enjoyed the first Rita Ora collection a lot and these look like they're worth getting too. I'm glad I'm not the only one who dislikes the brush though hehe.
ReplyDeleteRoll in the Grass is gorgeous <3
