piCture pOlish Moody Blues by Polly Polish - Swatches

Today I'm excited to be showing you one of the brand new piCture pOlish collaboration shades! This is Moody Blues, created with Hannah of Polly Polish, and I believe it's the first collaboration with a British blogger which makes it all the more special. Hannah was kind enough to gift a bottle to me so I could try it out!

I know Hannah has been bursting to show this polish, she's been waiting for a very long time. It's been worth the wait though as it's totally lovely, and I was like an over excited child when I received it! Moody Blues is named after Hannah's Dad's favourite band which I think is a lovely sentiment. It's described by piCture pOlish as being "a dark cerulean blue with micro ruby glitters for added darkness and stunning depth".

This particular shade of blue is quite unique to my stash and the depth comes from the shimmery silver flecks and the hint of ruby red micro glitter - which is evident on the nail but unfortunately camera shy. Let me tell you, it's supremely frustrating when things do not translate to camera! I managed to capture it a little in some of my pictures. It's a perfect wintery night blue and a very "me" shade.

The formula is smooth and pigmented and I've used 2 coats for my swatches. It doesn't dry down too glossy and looks at its best with a coat of high gloss top coat, or a couple of coats of regular gloss top coat. I've used 2 coats of No7 Stay Perfect.

Yummy bottle shot. Look at that red glitter!

Congratulations Hannah! I hope I've managed to do it justice!

You can purchase Moody Blues from Sally Magpies (UK) and of course direct from piCture pOlish. For your particular part of the world, check out the piCure pOlish Network to see where you can buy.

  4. Well done for capturing the red. It's so elusive on a photo and so visible in the right light irl. I love it. No bias at all!
