Models Own Colour Chrome Autumn/Winter 2015

Models Own Colour Chrome Autumn/Winter 2015

Following the release of the original Colour Chrome collection back in January '15, Models Own released five new colours for Autumn/Winter '15 and I have all five to show you today.

Colour Chrome are metallic, liquid metal style polishes that create a smooth chrome finish. When I apply these, I don't use base coat or top coat. They need a bit more of a careful hand with application, and I listed some tips in my original post - see it here if you want more information. I always struggle a little capturing true chromes on camera, they make my skin look so weird! As for colour accuracy though, I think I have that down. If you're wondering, yes, you can stamp with them too!

Chrome Turquoise is a silvery blue. I wouldn't really call this turquoise as such, but it's brighter than the Chrome Blue in the original collection. 2 coats

Chrome Pearl is a light, airy silver tone. Not pink as the bottle suggests! 3 coats

Chrome Copper is an antique burnished copper. This one looks quite old fashioned to me, and I struggled a bit with getting a smooth finish. 3 coats

Chrome Grey is a dark silvery grey with a blue undertone. I really like this one, it gave a very smooth finish and the colour is just lovely. 2 coats

Chrome Red is a silvery red. You can see silvery streaks running through it, I'm not sure if that's because I didn't shake it enough, but I like the effect! This one has a bit more of a matte finish than the others. 2 coats

The bottles are just irresistible!

Overall, I think I prefer the colours in the original release, but I'm definitely a fan of Chrome Grey and Chrome Red. Plus, we can never have too many stamping polishes can we?

  1. I always want to love chromes but they just show every imperfection even if it's minuscule so it's a big of a turn off. That being said, you could make me want any polish and I'm feeling that way about these too! :)

  2. I don't go for chromes because how much they make my ridges stand out. But I would use them for stamping!

  3. Chrome Grey looks excellent! But I don't usually choose chromes, they bring out all the imperfections and make me feel bad about my nails haha. I wish Chrome Copper looked as cool as the bottle does!

  4. Chrome Grey is gorgeous and my favourite from this collection. Though your beautiful swatches make it hard to pick. I quite like chrome polishes, but am a bit fussy over the formula of them. They must be a tricky style of polish to get made perfect.

  5. I'm not a fan of chromes (what Valesha said) but your swatches would make me buy anything almost haha

  6. These are beautiful and I have always wanted to try some stamping with these, maybe gotta pick some up :) Too bad that the Chrome Copper doesn't look more copper-y, instead they made kind of a pink finish.

  7. I like all of them but I think that's because of your perfect swatches and nails! <3

  8. I am not sure I would wear these on their own except maybe Chrome Grey (which looks incredible on you! But then they all do) but I think they would be amazing for stamping!
