Well, this isn't the best. In fact I don't really like it, I didn't do it very well. I'm still posting it though because in the future I think it'll be fun to look back and see how I've (hopefully) improved. I'm sad it didn't turn out too well, because I love gradient nails and I've seen some that have been beautifully done. I think I maybe need to find a better way of doing them.
My base is OPI - Lincoln Park After Dark (I found this really annoying to apply)
and I sponged some Barry M - Shocking Pink over that.
I like the colour the pink turned when I sponged it over the dark base. I also did a really cute Konad mani on my friend at the weekend, and I forgot to take pictures! :(
So how do you do this? I really want to give it a try.
ReplyDeleteLove these! Ombre nails are so hard. I tried it once and it was terrible. Yours looks great the colours you have used are lovely! x
ReplyDelete@TLL - I just painted on my base colour, waited for it to dry then sponged on the pink with a make-up sponge, trying to blend it downwards. Then before it was dry I brushed on some top coat to help it blend a little more. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Chantelle! I did like the way the colours worked together.
@LL thanks! I will have to give this a try this weekend!
ReplyDeleteOoh I never thought of using topcoat to help blend still wet polish! I've just posted about ombre nails too, but the other kind where you do different shades of the same colour ~ Turquoise Ombre Nails. I really love this trend
