Pools of Jewels

This is one of those posts where I have no idea what to name it. Hannah of Polly Polish said it reminded her of jewels, and my fantastic brain managed to rhyme pools with jewels. So there we have it. Hannah also pointed out that this reminded her of a design done by Jeanette of The Swatchaholic for Polish Days, and it does look very similar, although I think hers is much nicer!

To get this look I started with a base of w7 Black, then I used 4 of the Color Club Take Wing collection polishes (Daisy Does It, Fly With Me, Sparkle & Soar and Wing Fling) and a nail art brush to make splodges. I wish I could make it sound more sophisticated than that, but that's really all I did! I finished with 2 coats of top coat to make it look glassy.

More pictures ahead!

  1. Hi! Is there a visual tutorial somewhere for this technique? I checked all the links in the various posts but wasn't really sure how it was achieved. The Chalkboard Nails post shows it more but yours looks less rigid?

Would love to know more as it looks totally fantastic!
    Thanks

    1. I haven't seen one, sorry :( It's very simple but the end result would probably depend upon polishes. Hopefully someone can do a tutorial, and if not I will try and fit one in :)

  3. This is absolutely beautiful. I clicked through the other versions of this manicure and I can say without a shadow of a doubt that this is the best version I've seen.

  10. This is amazing! i am so excited to try it...I have the whole Color Club Wing It collection and I only have a very few CC polishes - they don't carry them around me - but for a short time we got a few of them into a drug store by me and that was one of the collections that 'hit' that drug store at the time. Just beautiful...and great name!
