Easter Gradient

Happy Easter! I hope everybody is gorging themselves on chocolate! I cooked a roast dinner today for my family (Well, my Mum did the meat because AS IF I can cook meat properly) and tomorrow I'm going to demolish my chocolate while sat in front of the television and not feel at all guilty about it.

Here are my Easter weekend nails! I decided on a gradient using mixed pastels, with an Easter Egg style pattern stamped over the top. The colours I used are Beth's Blue, Jade Stone, Pastel Pink and Lemon Meringue, all from Model's Own. The stamping plate is Bundle Monster 315.

Taking a picture like that last one is hard with one hand! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Vintage Floral

I dusted off my stamping plates for the first time in a while! I love stamping, but my nails are so big it can be such a pain getting the stamp to cover the whole thing!

I started with a base of OPI Samoan Sand, and I stamped with Konad White and a floral design from Bundle Monster plate 321. I added a Northern Lights Holo top coat, which isn't very visible in my pictures unfortunately.

Pink Candy Stripes

It's Spring. And it's snowing. All I have to say about that is UGH!!

Moving on! I've got a striped mani today. You don't see stripes around here very often because I'm not too good with a striper brush, but I think I'll start doing more for practice because I do love stripes.

Here, I started with a base coat of Essie Blanc. I used Barry M Pink Flamingo and a striping brush to freehand the stripes, and then I went over some of them with Candy Lacquer Sugar Mama.

I'm not quite sure why my hands are turning out so red on my camera lately!

2true Glitterati Shade 3 - Swatches

I've said before, I'm like a moth to a flame with glitter polishes. I don't actually wear it all that often, but I can't stop buying it. I found this one in Superdrug, along with one or two other nice glitters from 2true.

I think they could have come up with a more imaginative name! It's a little pet peeve of mine when companies don't name their polishes. So, here we have "Shade 3". It has loads of large and small hex glitters in different shades of blue and green, all in a blue jelly base.

I used two coats, along with two coats of top coat. I'd advise putting it over a similar blue rather than building it up yourself, as it got quite clumpy after 2 coats.

It looks like a jelly sandwich which I'm always a fan of! The quality is decent for a budget brand, I think this was around £2.99.

Have you tried any 2true colours?

Dreamcatcher

I've got some dreamcatcher nail art today! I've seen this become pretty popular lately, there's some lovely designs floating around on Instagram. Mine is quite simple but I think that tends to be my style (in nail art and in blog layouts!)

My base colour is OPI Skull & Glossbones, which is one of my go-to bases for nail art. I painted on all the details of the dreamcatcher and the feather with various Barry M polishes, a dotting tool and a small nail art brush.

My ring and little finger is Barry M Cyan Blue, with a couple of coats of OPI Gone Gonzo.

I haven't got the steadiest hand in the world, so I'm quite impressed it went well the first time.

Have you tried a dreamcatcher design? I'd love to see some more!

Candy Lacquer Sugar Mama - Swatches + Matteified!

Hi! Sorry I've been gone for a few days. I went on a little holiday and forgot to set up posts, because I am the world's most disorganised person.

I have some Candy Lacquer swatches today. Candy Lacquer is, so far, the only indie brand I've tried. I guess I'm just not as into indie polishes as a lot of people! I love Candy Lacquer though.

This is Sugar Mama, which is a clear base packed with tiny pink, white and black matte glitter. I applied 2 coats over Barry M Dragon Fruit. I find with glitters like this that it's much better to apply over another similar coloured polish, because you don't need as many coats, which means you can spread the glitter more evenly over your nail!

Chanel Frisson - Swatches and Gradient

Happy Saturday! Today I've got some swatches of Chanel Frisson from the Roses Ultimes collection, and also a quick gradient. I got Frisson for my last Birthday from my best friend, and she chose well! It's a soft, pale pink packed with little shimmering gold flakes.

I used 3 coats for full opacity.

It's so understated and soft, but still has a little sparkle element. So pretty!
