piCture pOlish Blogger - Swatches

We've arrived at the last post in my piCture pOlish swatch series :( I'm quite sad that I have no more to post! The last one I'm showing you is Blogger, a glitterbomb packed full of multi-colored hex glitter and fine glitter in a clear base. I especially like the name and the thought behind this one! Here I've layered Blogger over piCture pOlish Sky to make a glitter gradient.

Pastel Stripes

Well, I've gone and royally messed up my camera settings...that'll teach me to mess around when I have no idea what I'm doing. So, apologies for the slightly odd looking pictures. Is it me or do they look very washed out and my hands look extra wrinkly?! Me and my camera are definitely not friends at the moment.

Anyway, I did this accent nail using striping tape, and then carefully painting between the tape with a small nail art brush. I used Models Own Beth's Blue, Barry M Lemon Ice Cream and Barry M Berry Ice Cream. It reminds me of seaside rock!

2true Explosion! Metallica, Glitterati, Salon Shine and 3D Candy

Firstly, thank you all very much for my Birthday wishes in my last post. I really appreciate it! :)

I have some 2true goodies to show you today! 2true is a very affordable brand exclusive to Superdrug and they've recently come out with some great new stuff! You may have already seen their Glitterati glitter polish (I posted about one here a while ago) and now they have a Pro range which includes Metallica and Salon Shine. Last but not least is their new 3D Nail Candy!

Galaxy Nails 2.0

Hi! It's been a very long time since I've done galaxy nails, and since today is my Birthday I thought it'd make a nice Birthday mani (I hate the word mani, I really do) You can see my last attempt at this (which was also my first attempt) here. I think I've improved quite a lot, not only on the design but my pictures and nail shape too!

The polishes I used are:

a-england Tristam (base)
Kiko Blue Spot
Illamasqua Poke
Illamasqua Nomad
Barry M Greenberry

Tristam was the perfect base because it already looks like a little galaxy all on its own! I drew on the stars with white acrylic paint and a dotting tool. I may add this to my list of tutorials to do.

piCture pOlish Majesty by Sahrish Adeel - Swatches and Stamping

This is the penultimate post in my piCture pOlish swatch series :( sad it's nearly over! Today I've got Majesty, a collaboration shade with blogger Sahrish Adeel. Majesty is a champagne coloured shimmer with lots of scattered holo particles which flash gold and even a bit of green (which is unfortunately not evident in my pictures)

I added some nail art, I tried to go with elegant because this polish definitely is...this is a design from Bundle Monster plate 209, stamped with Konad white.

Emily De Molly The Fifth Element - Swatches

I've wanted this polish since the first time I saw it (I can't resist the movie reference and the colour combination) and thanks to Sally Magpies I was able to buy it at last! Emily De Molly is an Australian indie brand of nail polish and one of my absolute favourites, everything they make is just stunning. The Fifth Element is an unusual combination of orange and turquoise glitter in a turquoise jelly base. I used 2 coats.

L'Oreal Sequin Explosion

Don't you love it when you go to Boots and discover you have points on your advantage card to spend? I used mine to pick up this L'Oreal glitter and a Maybelline Baby Lips lip balm (which incidentally I really like!) L'Oreal have been making some nice polishes and glitters lately (you can see my post on the Confetti one here) and I have to say, I really love this one.

Sequin Explosion is a glitter topper which means it's in a clear base and designed to go over a colour. This is one coat over a gradient of Barry M Dragon Fruit and Barry M White.

Feeling a bit Ruffian

Lime green and black is definitely not a combination for everyone, especially in ruffian form! Personally though it's one of my favourites. Ruffian nail art is like a reverse french, and you can do it freehand or by using tape. I did mine freehand with a nail art brush and went for a smaller ruffian than usual.

I used Models Own Lime Green and Black Magic. Is this something you would wear

piCture pOlish Paradise by Liquid Jelly - Swatches and Stamping

The next in my piCture pOlish swatch series is Paradise, a collaboration shade with blogger Liquid Jelly. I was really excited when I got this! It looks so beautiful in the bottle and it translates well to the nails.

How to describe Paradise!? I have no idea really, there's a lot going on! It's sort of a textured blue/green jelly base with purple shimmer/glitter, along with larger pieces of pink glitter. It's really striking actually!

Pools of Jewels

This is one of those posts where I have no idea what to name it. Hannah of Polly Polish said it reminded her of jewels, and my fantastic brain managed to rhyme pools with jewels. So there we have it. Hannah also pointed out that this reminded her of a design done by Jeanette of The Swatchaholic for Polish Days, and it does look very similar, although I think hers is much nicer!

To get this look I started with a base of w7 Black, then I used 4 of the Color Club Take Wing collection polishes (Daisy Does It, Fly With Me, Sparkle & Soar and Wing Fling) and a nail art brush to make splodges. I wish I could make it sound more sophisticated than that, but that's really all I did! I finished with 2 coats of top coat to make it look glassy.

Floral Adventures

Quick post today. I started with a base of Barry M White, then painted the flowers on with Barry M Greenberry and Papaya, using a medium striping brush. I added some dots with a dotting tool.

Morgan Taylor Swatches

I have a couple of swatches from a brand called Morgan Taylor today. I'd had my eye on Under The Stars for a while and was lucky enough to be sent it, along with Gotta Have Hue. Morgan Taylor is a professional brand created by the founders of Gelish and recently launched at Urban Retreat in Harrods.

Unforunately, I really could not capture how nice Under The Stars is. I tried so hard, I must have taken about 50 pictures in a million different lights, but it just didn't get the sparkle. If you follow me on Instagram, I've put up a quick video of the bottle so you can see how nice it actually looks! It has different sized pieces of holographic glitter, in a midnight blue base.

piCture pOlish Citrus - Swatches and Nail Art

Thank you to everyone who commented on my Blog Fest post, I'm so happy that so many people liked it! Don't forget to show me if you create something using the tutorial! I'm over half way through my piCture pOlish swatch fest now too. Today I've got Citrus to show you, and a bit of nail art to go with it.

Citrus is a bright bright juicy orange creme and looks good enough to drink! I found the formula a bit thicker than other PP creme polishes but still smooth. I used 2 coats and top coat.
