Pools of Jewels

This is one of those posts where I have no idea what to name it. Hannah of Polly Polish said it reminded her of jewels, and my fantastic brain managed to rhyme pools with jewels. So there we have it. Hannah also pointed out that this reminded her of a design done by Jeanette of The Swatchaholic for Polish Days, and it does look very similar, although I think hers is much nicer!

To get this look I started with a base of w7 Black, then I used 4 of the Color Club Take Wing collection polishes (Daisy Does It, Fly With Me, Sparkle & Soar and Wing Fling) and a nail art brush to make splodges. I wish I could make it sound more sophisticated than that, but that's really all I did! I finished with 2 coats of top coat to make it look glassy.

More pictures ahead!

Holo Flowers

Quick post today. I started with a base colour of OPI Samoan Sand, and painted on the flowers with a nail art brush and Color Club Halo-Graphic. I outlined with black acrylic paint.

There's quite a few pretty pictures, so click the jump to see!

Hallobeams

October is my favourite month of the year. I absolutely love Halloween! And bonfire night too. Everything always feels nice and cosy in October. I can't wait to buy a toffee apple (or 5) and carve pumpkins!

And so to the first Halloween themed mani (I hate the word mani, I wish I could stop using it)!

I have coined this one Hallobeams. Halloween...laser beams...geddit!?

I used two coats of Color Club Sparkle and Soar, which is a gorgeous orange glassfleck and one of my favourites. I then stuck on some striping tape before applying a coat of Models Own Black Swirl, then peeling off the tape. Voila! Hallobeams!

My little finger nail snapped off after this. I've been back for a day!! Will nobody have mercy!

Pink Gradient With a Twist

Hello! I've busted out the pink again today...I just can't help myself. I'm quite girly really.

Base colour is Rimmel Strawberry Fizz, then I sponged on some Color Club Wing Fling to make the gradient. My ring finger is Color Club Wing Fling, stamped with Konad special polish black and a design from Bundle Monster plate 201.

Mind that gap on my index finger eh.

P.s. There's still time to enter my giveaway :)

P.p.s. I NEED A LIGHTBOX.

Disco Tiger

It's the return of the stupid mani names! Just what are you supposed to call these things? Personally I like giving them silly names, makes it more fun :P and so we have Disco Tiger!

You may notice that the corner of my ring finger nail has snapped off. Oops! The perils of having square (squoval?) nails!

I used colours from the Color Club Take Wing collection - top to bottom: Fly With me, Wing Fling, Sparkle and Soar, Daisy Does It. I then used Konad plate M57 to stamp the tiger print, using Konad special polish. I finished with a top coat of ORLY Sec 'n' Dry.

I love this mani, I want to wear it forever! It may be a little too loud for the office though :P have a good weekend everyone!

Pink Leopard

I've never really got on well with leopard print. When done well it can look really good, and there seems to be many ways of doing it, but I can never seem to get it right! And it always looks so easy. I don't even want to think about my earlier attempts at leopard print.

Today I used a tutorial from Chalkboard Nails to see if it helped, but it still didn't turn out how I wanted! Leopard, you are my nemesis.

My base colour is Color Club I Believe In Amour, the shiny dots are Models Own Mystic Mauve and the outline is Barry M Shocking Pink.

Eh, could be worse! I'll keep trying!

Color Club Reveal Your Mystery/TK Maxx Dilemma!

Right, I'm pretty confused. I got this set of Color Club polishes from TK Maxx, and according to the packaging it's supposed to be the Alter Ego 'Reveal Your Mystery' collection. I know next to nothing about Color Club because this is the first time I have ever seen them sold in the UK.

Anyway, the colours are all wrong! I looked up swatches of the collection and none of them match the ones in the box. I googled it and it seems a few people have had the same problem, and some people just haven't even seemed to notice. SO WHAT ARE THESE COLOURS!? There's no names on the bottles but they are not the Reveal Your Mystery colours. There's also a random topcoat thrown in there too!

Basically if anyone can help identify them I'd be grateful. Having no named colours will drive me mad. :P
