Coloristiq Manicure Box - September 2015

Coloristiq Manicure Box September 2015

I have another manicure box to share with you today, this time from Coloristiq. Coloristiq is originally a nail polish rental service but has now branched out into offering a monthly manicure box where you get to keep the contents. The main difference with this one is that it isn't a subscription box, you can simply visit the website and order a one off box without having to sign up for anything.

Coloristiq's manicure box will typically include 3-4 full size polishes, 1 or 2 mini bottles and a nail care item. The selection changes on a monthly basis, and you'll be able to view what the box contains before you decide to purchase. Each box will also have a unique theme; this month it's "Nails And The City" and each polish chosen for the box represents a city - London, New York, Venice and Budapest.

Each Manicure Box will have a minimum value of around £33 (if you're adding up the full RRP of each item) and will cost £15 per box.

In this month's box:

- Nails Inc The Mall
- Essie Fifth Avenue
- OPI A Great Opera-tunity (you'll receive 1 of 4 mini bottles)
- Danglefoot Polish Bluedapest

The Mall is a metallic, shimmery royal blue. The formula is a little clumpy but it evened out with top coat. 2 coats

Nails Inc The Mall

Fifth Avenue is a red creme with orange undertones. This one has a fantastic, almost 1-coat formula. I used 2 for good measure (as always!) no top coat, it's super glossy even without.

Essie Fifth Avenue

A Great Opera-tunity is a peachy tan creme from OPI's recent Venice collection. I used 3 thin coats plus top coat.

The crowning glory of the box is Bluedapest by Danglefoot Polish, a UK based indie brand. It's a pretty seafoam base with loads of tiny gold flakes and a scattered holo finish. So beautiful, I love it! The formula is wonderful, I used 2 coats plus top coat for a glossy finish. This polish is exclusive to Coloristiq so you won't find it anywhere else.

I like the fact you don't have to subscribe to this box, which makes it easier to give as a gift (a nice Christmas present, perhaps?) or as a little treat to yourself. Subscription boxes have their place too, but it's good to have choice! I love that a UK indie has been included which gives the box a very unique feel, and it's good to see a company supporting indie makers. Another nice little touch is that the packaging is different every month!

Availability

- Available only from Coloristiq, priced £15 per box excluding P&P.

  1. Beautiful swatches Allie! It's a shame about the formula of the Nails Inc, it's such a gorgeous colour.
