My night at the Cosmopolitan Blog Awards 2013!

Today's post is a bit of a special one - pictures and details from my night at the Cosmopolitan Blog Awards! The picture above is probably my favourite of the night - Sammy, Lucy, Me, Alice and Amelia all crammed in a photobooth! Read on if you want to see more pictures from the night.

So, I was very lucky to attend the Cosmo Blog Awards on October 2nd. I think around 48,000 blogs had entered so it was a big honour to be among the finalists! I attended with Sammy of The Nailasaurus, Lucy of Lucy's Stash, Alice of One Nail To Rule Them All and Amelia of xameliax. It was like a British Nail Blogger invasion! (Amelia is a fashion/beauty/lifestyle vlogger but she was a very very welcome addition to the group!) Unfortunately my pictures aren't the best because I didn't bring my proper camera so had to rely on my phone.

The event was held at the OXO Tower on London's South Bank. 

When we arrived we were greeted with trays of Champagne! There was also a Cocktail bar with complimentary free flowing drinks, so naturally that's where we headed first ;) The decor inside was lovely, everything was white with bits of pink, beautiful flowers everywhere and comfy leather sofas! There was even trays of delicious food and cupcakes, which never goes unwelcome!

There were booths situated around the venue where you could get complimentary hair, nails and eyelashes done! I had my eyelashes done by the very talented Lauren Alice at a booth ran by The Vintage Cosmetic Company.

It was strange wandering around and seeing familiar faces from blogs you read! I didn't win my category, but Alice only went and won Best New Beauty Blog! It was really exciting to have one of our group win, and Alice was so happy I thought she might explode for a minute! Here she is with her award (pic from Lucy)

We stayed until the very end and quite possibly drained the cocktail bar...I think we were the last ones standing! When it was time to go we were presented with an awesome goodie bag full of treats, including jewellery and vodka!

My favourite bit of the goodie bag, a piece from Anna Lou of London! I got this lovely holo sparkle necklace which I absolutely love - 

When we left we all had a wander around South Bank, in search of somewhere to eat! Everywhere was closed by that time though so we ended up in a McDonald's by Trafalgar Square (totally classy) where we all had a good talk about blog stuff...actually it was probably 75% laughter and 25% blog discussion! All in all it was a really good night. I was SO nervous before I got there but I needn't have been, everyone was so friendly and welcoming. I got on really well with Sammy, Lucy, Alice and Amelia, we had a good laugh together and Sammy is an excellent person to share a hotel room with! I'd love to meet up with them again in the future. Thank you to any of you who voted for me to be there, I'm so grateful!
