Distressed Halloween Gradient

I love Halloween, I love Halloween nail art, I love pumpkins, ghosts, ghouls and witches...you get the idea. On to to my first Halloween nail art of this year! This look is inspired by this post from Sarah of Chalkboard Nails.

I started with a base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls (what I would do without that polish, I have no idea) then I sponged a gradient over the top using Barry M Mango (which is a fantastic Halloween orange) and Illamasqua Poke

Over the top of that, I used Barry M Black to create the distressed look, which just involves wiping most of the polish off the brush on the bottle neck, then using the mostly dry brush to swipe on the polish. I finished with a coat of No7 Stay Perfect top coat.

I decided to see what it looked like with a matte top coat. I think I might love it even more!
