Rimmel recently re-launched their 60 seconds range with a new formula and also released a new Rita Ora collection for Summer, and I've chosen my 8 favourites to share with you today. You might be surprised I haven't chosen more brights, but the darks and neutrals really stood out to me too!

Hi! The Spring shades continue to roll in and today I have the Sweetie Heart matte polishes from Rimmel to share with you. Swatching these made me realise that matte polish hardly ever features on my blog, it's kind of a love it or hate it thing isn't it? Well, here I am filling the matte void...!

Gloomy Winter Gradient

We're still firmly in those gloomy winter days, and this look reminded me of exactly that! It's not what I set out to do (is it ever?!) but the addition of the white glitter top coat on the grey and blue background looks like snow on a wintery afternoon - I think so, at least (I'm obsessed with snow, can you tell?)

Easter Again!

I managed to squeeze in some more Easter themed nail art (actually the only thing vaguely Easter themed about it is the pastel colours, but sshh)

You may have heard that Rimmel have a brand new collection of their 60 Seconds nail polishes in collaboration with Rita Ora (she is a pop star here in the UK for those who don't know!) which contains a huge 12 shades! I've split my post up in to two parts, so today I'll be showing you the 5 pastel shades the collection has to offer.

Pink Gradient With a Twist

Hello! I've busted out the pink again today...I just can't help myself. I'm quite girly really. 

Base colour is Rimmel Strawberry Fizz, then I sponged on some Color Club Wing Fling to make the gradient. My ring finger is Color Club Wing Fling, stamped with Konad special polish black and a design from Bundle Monster plate 201.

Mind that gap on my index finger eh.

Pop Heart

I sound like a broken record but lord is it COLD! It's -1 here. I'm sitting here under a big fleecy blanket with just my hands poking out like ET. I feel like climbing into the oven.

Anyway, I wanted to do something bright, so here we have what I have labelled "pop heart". The heart design is something I did on a nail wheel (which will eventually be posted here) and decided to use in an actual mani, though granted it does look better on the nail wheel.

The base is Rimmel Lasting Finish in Sunshine. The formula was a bit sheer and streaky but it does have a nice subtle shimmer to it. The accent nail was done using Barry M - Matt White and a dotting tool, then I freehanded (can't you tell!) a heart using Models Own - Bubblegum, and outlined it using a tiny brush with black acrylic paint. I'll be damned if I can outline things using actual black polish. Damned I tell you.

I finished with a couple of fimo flowers. I'm on the fence about the flowers. One of the pesky things decided to fall off when I was taking pictures (and what better time to fall off!?) which is why there's an odd blur on my index finger...I didn't have time to stick it back on so I blurred out the big chip.

Rimmel Starlet Swatches

Here's another of my favourite polishes, from the Rimmel 60 seconds collection.

If there's one word I'd use to describe this polish, it'd be juicy! Kind of strange I know, but looking at it makes me thirsty! It's a jelly-like finish, yet at the same time it could be described as a foil. I can't pin it down.

It glides on effortlessly and two coats is perfect. Please mind the massive gaps between my cuticles and the polish, I don't know what happened there! :\

I added a matte topcoat, and it looked gorgeous! I definitely love it more with a matte finish. 

Rimmel Your Majesty Swatches

I'm thinking of having a 50 follower giveaway, since I seem to be close to that amount now. I have no idea when (or, indeed, if!) I'll hit 50, because I have no idea how to drum up more followers, but I'll announce the giveaway when it happens. I've never done one before so I hope I don't mess it up! Any tips? help?

On to the polish. This is one of my favourites from my collection, I always seem to be using it in nail art and just on days when I'm too lazy to do something creative!

 

Your Majesty is a fabulous silver foil. Very shimmery and beautiful, it really stands out. 

The formula is wonderful and applies like a dream. My pictures are two coats, no top coat. I find it seems to be pretty hard wearing, even without a top coat. The only thing is, it takes a little while to dry thoroughly, but it's only £2.99/8ml so who can complain? Anybody else have a favourite foil they'd recommend?

Cherry Blossom

I'm trying to squeeze in as many summer manis as I can before Autumn/Winter, but knowing me I'll end up wearing bright nails all through them anyway. 

For this I used Models Own - Top Turquoise and Rimmel Lasting Finish Fruities - Strawberry Fizz, both easy to apply cremes. The latter is a scented polish and smells lovely, though the smell wears off after a day. 

For the Cherry Bossom design I used a dotting tool, Barry M - Matte White, and a no-brand black.

Models Own polishes are £5/14ml and Rimmel Fruities are £2.99/8ml.

Dusky Lace

I'd heard Dusky Mauve by Barry M was a dupe of Chanel's Paradoxal (I am yet to own a Chanel polish but the day will inevitably come) and it really is. These pictures don't do the colour justice at all because they were taken indoors, and you really need to be in the sunlight to get the full extent of the shimmery purple and blue (you can see it better in the picture of the bottle above).

I used Rimmel  - Your Majesty and Konad m57 plate for the lace detail.
