Distressed Stripes

Hi! Today I have some pretty random nail art that you can achieve in about ten minutes flat, and is also very easy to do with your non-dominant hand!

For this look, I started with a base of Barry M Matt White. I used the dry brush technique along with a striping brush and Barry M Black for the distressed stripes - all this involves is coating the brush in polish and wiping most of it off before brushing onto your nails, creating a grungy effect. It's a technique I've used a few times before (Distressed Halloween, Green Distressed) but this is the first time I've used a striping brush!

After I was happy with my black stripes, I used Models Own Bikini and Barry M Mango to brush on little pops of bright colour, before finishing with top coat.

What do you think, is this something you'd try?

  4. This is DEFINITELY something I would do. I love simple techniques that give you very bold and fun results. This looks totally awesome! I've done distressed manis loads of times using the polish brush, but I really enjoy your twist using the striping brush, so I must try it!

  6. Ooooh, I like how you did this with a striping brush instead of fully covering the nail! The neon accents really pop :).
