Hi! I picked this polish up in a pound shop, first time I've ever seen a Revlon in there. I wouldn't normally have bought it for the full price of £6.99, but for £1, well why not.
Emerald City is labelled as matte, and the finish is certainly some degree of matte, although not as much as it could be.

It's a deep forest green with some shimmer shot through it, and I was pleasantly surprised by how nice it is. The formula is quite lovely too, highly pigmented and smooth. My pictures are two coats.
Definitely worth a quid! I also tried it with a glossy topcoat, click the jump to see :)
Here it is with a regular topcoat. I think I actually prefer this one glossy, it brings out all the shimmer.

Much more fun! Which one do you prefer?
I wouldn't mind getting this so cheaply. That is amazing! especially as this is such a dear brand. I love the colour. I like both matte and glossy. Matte would probably be my preference.
ReplyDeleteoo love this on you.. i think i like it matte more, or semi matte lol
ReplyDeleteI got this one in Poundland too! I also bought Ruby Ribbon from the same collection there too x
ReplyDeleteYou've gotta love Poundland! I've got swatches of this waiting to go but I'm so uninspired by them that pretty glitters keep taking priority. I much prefer it with topcoat - without just reminds me of my old school blazer.
ReplyDeleteI got two of these from Poundland in different packaging (and different colour?!) but under the same name! I love this though, and definitely prefer it glossy, it makes the shimmer really come alive. Loving these photos xxx
ReplyDeleteWow!! I got this polish from poundland aswell!! i was so over the moon!! you know they had so many revlon polishes and i went to superdrug just to check them out and they had the same polishes so definately a win!! i bought 7!! at original price it would be over 40 quid! so defffff worth it!! also poundland have started to bring NYC in a minute and rimmel london polishes!!
ReplyDeleteIt's got to be the one with topcoat :) Lovely shimmer then!
ReplyDeleteUsually i like this colour with a topcoat because the shimmer is so nice.
ReplyDeleteOoh, don't know....both finishes are nice. What about trying it mattified? (lol, is that even a word?)
