Today I have swatches of the stunning new collection from a-england, Elizabeth & Mary. Another collection steeped in history, this release consists of 5 polishes - 3 scattered holo and 2 shimmers.
This collection takes it's inspiration from Elizabeth I and Mary, Queen of Scots, two of British history's most famous royals (and who I still remember quite a bit about from History lessons!)
Gloriana is a gorgeous red foil/shimmer with delicate gold sparkle. Wonderful formula and practically a one coater! Shown is 2 thin coats plus top coat
Queen of Scots is a dark royal blue with deep subtle shimmer, unfortunately not very evident in my pictures! The formula here is not quite as great as the others, but it's easily applied. This is a dense and highly pigmented polish so don't forget your base coat! I used 2 coats plus top coat
Fotheringhay Castle is an golden olive green with scattered holo particles, which really come to life under direct light. This is an usual colour for a holo but it works wonderfully, and the formula is a one coater! I've used 2 coats, not top coat (2 coats just means more holo, right!?)
Direct light:
Crown of Thistles is a stunning orchid with scattered holo particles. I adore this colour, it's so striking! Perfect formula, 2 coats, no top coat.
Direct light:
Virgin Queen is difficult to describe; in indirect light it's a pewter shade, and under direct light it comes out a lot more silver. It contains stunning rainbow holo particles which show up best under direct light. Shown is 2 coats, no top coat.
Direct light:
Another enchanting and thoughtful collection from a-england, complete with their signature formula. I can't wait to see what little pieces of history will be in their next release!
My picks: Virgin Queen and Crown of Thistles
