Birchbox UK - August 2015

Birchbox UK August 2015

Press Sample

A new month means a new Birchbox on the block! August is one of my favourite months...it's my birthday month, blog anniversary month, and my friend had her baby 2 days ago on the 2nd, so now it's even more special! It also means Autumn is just around the corner, which I always look forward to. This month's Birchbox theme is Beauty Junkie, so let's take a look inside (stop here if you don't want spoilers!)

For those who don't know, Birchbox is a monthly beauty subscription box (last featured on my blog back in May) delivering themed boxes of deluxe beauty samples (sometimes full sized) and often cute bonus items such as the stickers in this month's box.

August's box contains 2 make up items (plus an extra mini bonus) and 3 bath/body products, including one of three 70ml Rituals products. The whole box smells delicious!

Birchbox UK August 2015

1. Rituals Ayurveda Body Scrub, 70ml

You'll receive 1 of 3 different scents in your box; I got Indian Rose & Multani Clay and it smells SO good. This is a good sized product at 70ml and you'll get plenty of uses out of it.

2. Kebelo Clarfying Shampoo, 50ml

I'm unfamiliar with this brand, but that's what I like about Birchbox - trying new brands! This shampoo is meant for a deep hair cleanse (once or twice a month) to wash out product build up. A little hair detox in a bottle! It's pretty much fragrance free which will please some people, though personally I prefer scented hair products.

3. Huygens Exfoliating Cream (Birchbox Exclusive) 10ml

Creamy facial scrub with rice particles to wash away dead skin cells. I'm loving facial scrubs with rice particles at the moment, I've been using one by Simple and it's really good so I have high hopes! This has quite a strong citrus scent which I like, but might not be for everybody.

4. Lord & Berry Blush in Lotus, 2g

This is a small refill pan so a bit finicky to use, but I love the warm tone of the blush; it'll be lovely for Autumn/Winter.

5. theBalm Balm Desert Bronzer, 0.8g

Again this is small but easy to use because it comes in a cute little magnetic case. Could also be used as a blush! I've been admiring the nail polish by theBalm Cosmetics recently, I adore their branding!

6. Illamasqua Hydra Veil, 3ml

This is an extra beauty bonus for this month's box and I'm over the moon to finally be able to try Hydra Veil. If reviews are anything to go by, this is the primer of all primers.

Lifestyle bonus - exclusive-to-Birchbox emoji stickers

August's box has a bit of an emoji theme going on, and they've thrown in this cute sheet of stickers!

I'm more than happy with the products in this month's box, I love it even more than the last one I received! I've realised recently that I love receiving and featuring subscription boxes - of course most blogger mail is exciting, but apparently surprises make me giddy! ;)

  1. I used to get the box but most of it is miss as opposed to hit, I ended up saving the cash and going onto Fragrance Direct for a monthly (ish) haul, so much more value for money.

  4. I didn't get the balm nor illamasqua products! Instead I got a mini high bean and hair tie! Was expecting those I'm feeling very disappointed.
