Ed Sheeran Nail Art 2.0

Hi! First of all I'll say if you're sick of hearing me talk about Ed Sheeran, I'd skip this post! :P

So I finally got to see Ed last night, at the Apollo in Manchester. I can't even tell you how amazing it was! It was so so so great. It's sick how talented he is. At one point he did a cover of Wayfaring Stranger and he sang some of it acapella without a microphone, and it was just beautiful....even if it did take him ages to get the crowd to shut the hell up so he could do the quiet songs. I may have teared up a bit when he did Kiss Me, but that song just gets to me! Gah, I love him so much. If you ever get the chance to see him live, do it, seriously. I took my best friend with me, who is a metalhead...and even she said it was lovely!

Obviously, I themed my nails for the night...I always have to! I first did Ed nails back in April, and that post is the second or third most viewed on my entire blog. Lots of love for Ed!

Anyway.

Click to enlarge (I really need to widen the columns of my blog).

My base colour is Orange Soda by 17. I painted all the details on with a small nail art brush, and a striping brush for my thumb. I used a make-up sponge for the orange and white gradient. The banner on the heart turned out a bit squiffy. It's always hit and miss when I do them!

I like these more than the first ones I did!

Here's a picture of Ed I took last night:

Okay, I'm going to stop talking about him now. I'll save that for my poor friends!

Frankenlove

Happy Halloween! Hope you all have a great time doing whatever you're doing tonight. Is it me or has everyone gone a bit more nuts for Halloween this year? Everywhere I look, houses are decorated to the extreme...it wasn't like this last year! It's making me curse the fact I'm too old to get away with trick-or-treating!

Here we have a Halloween staple, the lovely Mr. Frankenstein's Monster and his beautiful bride. She's slightly bewildered at having no mouth, but how can you have room for your mouth when your hair's that big?

You can probably tell, I was a little rushed doing this. Isn't my stubby little fingernail awesome?

Base colour is an unlabelled polish, possibly Beauty UK. I painted on all the details with Barry M black and a small nail brush.

Here are the pumpkins I carved this year (I also roasted the seeds and they were delicious!)

Have a good night!! I'm off to see Ed Sheeran tomorrow, I could not be more excited!

Breast Cancer Awareness Nail Art

I'm a little late in the month for this, but it's allowed since I didn't have internet access earlier on! October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and it's kind of a difficult subject for me to talk about, so I'll just say you can donate something here if you want to, or you could also donate to Stand Up To Cancer. (I donated...I practice what I preach!)

On to the nails...

Index and middle finger base is Models Own Pastel Pink. I used BM plate 231 and Barry M Gelly in Pomegranate to stamp on the Ribbon. Ring finger and little finger is Models Own Lili's Pink, with a glitter fade of OPI Teenage Dream

I painted on the heart with a small nail art brush, then outlined with tiny glitter pieces.

It's really nice to see some other bloggers that have done a similar thing for October, with some even turning their blogs pink (mine is already pink!) It's a wonderful cause and any excuse for a nice sickly pink mani, eh?

Hallobeams

October is my favourite month of the year. I absolutely love Halloween! And bonfire night too. Everything always feels nice and cosy in October. I can't wait to buy a toffee apple (or 5) and carve pumpkins!

And so to the first Halloween themed mani (I hate the word mani, I wish I could stop using it)!

I have coined this one Hallobeams. Halloween...laser beams...geddit!?

I used two coats of Color Club Sparkle and Soar, which is a gorgeous orange glassfleck and one of my favourites. I then stuck on some striping tape before applying a coat of Models Own Black Swirl, then peeling off the tape. Voila! Hallobeams!

My little finger nail snapped off after this. I've been back for a day!! Will nobody have mercy!

I'm back! + Dating a Stud

I'm finally back. Oh my goodness I did NOT anticipate being gone for that long!! I have literally had to learn  how to blog again, I can barely remember how to do anything, and it's been that long since I've looked at a computer screen or typed on an actual keyboard that it feels so alien.

Thank you to everyone who stuck around, I don't ever plan on being gone that long again!

My nails have suffered over the past few weeks and it probably shows in the pictures :( it's a mess of dry cuticles and splits...oh and I've also forgotten how to take pictures. The next few weeks will be spent re-learning, it seems.

I called this one Dating a Stud, because it features OPI Dating a Royal and some studs...see what I did there!? Wow, I'm hilarious.

This is 3 coats of OPI - Dating a Royal (I find it to be quite watery unfortunately, but I love the colour) and some square gold studs from Born Pretty, stuck on using a toothpick and clear nail polish.

I LOVE using studs in nail art, I'll be using these more in future!

Anyway, it's good to be back, and I'm going to spend some time catching up on your blogs and the nail world in general.
