A England Sparks Divine

A England Sparks Divine

Press Sample

Quick post today to finally show you Sparks Divine by A England. This was originally supposed to be released with Whispering Waves, but there was a mix up with the batch of polish (if you own the polish that was wrongly released, you have a bit of a collector's item!) so it ended up being released separately, and here it is.

A England Whispering Waves Swatches

a england whispering waves
Happy New Year everyone! My blogging break is over and I feel totally refreshed and ready to dive back in. A break truly does do the world of good, and my nails are finally back in good shape too - thank you if you've stuck around through my down time <3

I'm kicking off 2016 with a beautiful polish from A England that I've been sitting on for a while...I'm glad it's finally getting it's moment!

a england To Emily Bronte Swatches

a england To Emily Bronte swatches

Press Sample

One of my favourite brands, a england, has just released a brand new collection inspired by Emily Brontë, author of that novel which you'll have certainly heard of, Wuthering Heights. I have read the book (many years ago) but Wuthering Heights to me just brings out a chorus of the Kate Bush song...which I sang pretty much non stop while swatching this collection, so imagine that if you will.

Delicate Stamping with piCture pOlish, Pet'la Plate and A England

Pet'La Plate Nail Art by @britnails

The problem with stamping is it never seems to look as dainty and delicate in pictures as it does in real life; as a blogger this drives me mad, there are few things more annoying as when a design doesn't translate well to screen. I'm hoping you get the idea though! Here I've used one of my favourite piCture pOlish collaboration shades, teamed with one of my favourite stamping plates which I received from NailLand.

Baroque Beauty

Did you know that a-england make fabulously good stamping polishes? Well, they do! I've used two of my favourite a-england beauties - Saint George and Sleeping Palace - for this design, along with an image from MoYou London Pro Collection 03 (XL). The baroque style design is a perfect match for the mythical feel of a-england polishes! I feel like this has a sort of Game of Thrones feel to it, too. I think if Cersei Lannister had some stamping plates and nail polish, this is what she might rock. ;)

a-england Burne-Jones Dream Collection Swatches And Review

Hi! I've had a mad busy week and forgot to schedule in some posts, so sorry for that! Getting back on track now. The best bit of my week was the Coty Nail Event in London on Thursday. I met up with 2 of my best blogger friends, Alice and Sammy, and we went to the event together. We were really spoiled by the wonderful Coty team and got a peek at all the new and upcoming releases. Afterwards we got taken out for some lovely food by Laura from Rimmel London. How exciting! We also bumped into Emma and Jo from Dahlia Nails, who were both lovely. Can't wait for the next event!

Anyway, today I've got swatches of the beautiful Burne-Jones Dream collection from a-england.

Stamping with Princess Tears

It's been a while since a england has graced my blog, which just won't do as they're one of my favourite brands! They recently had a sale, so I picked up three polishes including the beauties I've used in this post.

Understated Valentine

I've never been much of a fan of Valentine's Day inspired nail art. Although I have taken part in the past, all the hearts and reds and pinks just aren't really my thing. So while I did have Valentine's Day in mind with this one, I was going for more sweet and understated!

Galaxy Nails 2.0

Hi! It's been a very long time since I've done galaxy nails, and since today is my Birthday I thought it'd make a nice Birthday mani (I hate the word mani, I really do) You can see my last attempt at this (which was also my first attempt) here. I think I've improved quite a lot, not only on the design but my pictures and nail shape too!

The polishes I used are:

a-england Tristam (base)
Kiko Blue Spot
Illamasqua Poke
Illamasqua Nomad
Barry M Greenberry

Tristam was the perfect base because it already looks like a little galaxy all on its own! I drew on the stars with white acrylic paint and a dotting tool. I may add this to my list of tutorials to do.

More pictures ahead

Lily of The Lake

This is named after the polishes I used...Sally Hansen Gilded Lily and a-england Lady of The Lake. I supposed I could also have called it Gilded Lake. My imagination is just endless isn't it!?

I painted on a base of Lady of The Lake, followed by a top coat of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri. I then taped off the triangle shapes with striping tape, and painted over them with Sally Hansen Gilded Lily.

I don't know why my hand looks so red in this first one. Thanks, camera!

a-england She Walks In Beauty Gradient

England is cold. So very cold. I love it though! Anyone else love the wintery weather? I've been taking my dog on super long walks and I've become addicted to crunching my feet on frozen puddles. I don't want the freeze to end!

Anyway, my a-england order arrived today! Always love getting nail mail from lovely Adina. She Walks in Beauty is a lovely champagne-gold shimmer packed with different sized rose pink glitter. I decided to try a gradient with Illamasqua Jo'Mina, but I'm not sure it's exactly a gradient...I'm not very good with blending glitter onto nails!

I used two coats of Jo'Mina, then dabbed on She Walks In Beauty with a makeup sponge.

Not sure why Jo'Mina looks about 47 different colours in the pictures. Silly lightbox.

a-england Perceval and Lady of The Lake - Swatches

Before I start, my blog has a slightly new look. I just had to go for the pink, I couldn't help myself. I also made some social media buttons for the sidebar. What do you think?

Moving on...

I know that everybody has heard of a-england by now because they're very popular (and rightly so!) but I love my e-englands so much I just had to swatch them. First we have Lady of The Lake and Perceval, of The Mythicals collection, which I recently got in the Mythical Fair sale.
