NYC Swatch Spam

Press Sample

Hi! I've got swatches of some random NYC polishes today (I say spam, it's only 6 really, but I've decided I can call that spam!) NYC is a brand I've been familiar with for years but only recently started to really love! I discovered I had a good few in my stash so decided to swatch all the most recent ones.

NYC is a super budget brand (even cheaper than Barry M!) but as far as the nail polish is concerned they don't skimp on quality. I can't comment on their make-up range as I haven't tried it yet, but I'm definitely planning to! They also feature flat brushes which is great for a cheap brand, I always find myself wishing other budget brands would use flat brushes in their polishes.

The first 3 swatches are from the In a New York Colour Minute range, which are a bargainous £1.79 RRP!

Lavender Blossom is a cool lilac creme. The formula is quite thin, but I still only needed 2 coats! This is 2 plus top coat.

Peach Popsicle is a bright peach creme which can lean towards an orange tone depending on your light source. This was a little streaky on the first coat but built up easily. This is 2 coats plus top coat

Hudson Breeze is one of those gorgeous, deep blues that so many people love. I've heard it's a dupe of the original Sally Hansen Pacific Blue! The formula is smooth, glossy and pigmented. I've used 2 coats plus top coat.

The next 3 swatches are from the Expert Last range, slightly posher at £2.49 RRP ;)

Summer in NYC is a peachy orange creme with a hidden shimmer which barely appears on the nail - that didn't bother me though because the colour is so gorgeous! I've used 2 coats plus top coat

Rooftop Party Berry is a raspberry red creme. This is practically a one coater and super glossy even without top coat! I've used 2 coats

Lastly, Picnic On The Lawn is one of those difficult-to-capture-on-camera teal shades. I'd say I have it mostly accurate here, it's maybe a little more jade in real life. Another lovely smooth formula, I've used 2 coats plus top coat.

I'm so so impressed with these polishes, they're better than some I've tried at double the price. I've noticed they have some foil polishes available which I can't wait to get my hands on! Have you tried NYC before? What did you think?

Availability

- NYC is available from Superdrug, in store and online

  2. I have a bit of a soft spot for NYC too, you really can't beat them for the price. I have 3 of the foils, and they stamp amazingly. A little brushstrokey, as most foils are, but great opacity, and very pretty colours. :) xx

  6. Awesome swatches! I've seen these polishes at my drugstore but I would opt for Milani. After your review I might go out and try these!!
